A year later, in May 2011 Viber expanded to the Android platform but was only available to 50,000 users.

The developer took over a year before finally releasing the final version to the public.

On July 19, 2012, Android users around the world were able to find Viber on the Play Store without restrictions. In the span of a year, Viber took the time to release other versions for BlackBerry and Windows Phone.

In early versions, Viber only featured voice calls for Android and iOS. It wasn't until September 2012 that voice calls and group messages were brought to Windows Phone.

But at that time only limited to Nokia devices because of the cooperation between Viber and Nokia. It wasn't until April 2013 that the feature was fully usable across all compatible Windows Phone 8 devices.

Shortly after, in August 2013 Viber expressed its support for Linux despite the new public beta. A year later the final version was released to the public.
